On this page you'll find details on the standard Disneyland packages, as well as current discounted packages. Most of the packages listed below can be booked online at Disneyland.com . However, I find the online reservations system to be confusing and clunky. Also, you really have to dig around online to find out the restrictions and cancellation fees, etc. If you're going to spend the money to buy a vacation package, I strongly recommend using a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel . It costs you nothing, and you can sit back, relax, and have all the vacation planning and hassle taken care of by someone else. Subject to availability, advance reservations required. To book a special January-April 2006 package, please contact a Disney Specialist travel agent . United Airlines Kids Fly Free Promo United Airlines is offering a "Kids Fly Free" promotion for travel between 1/3/06 and 4/27/06. With this promo, one child (age 2-11) flies "free" per one a paid adult airfare , when you buy a Disneyland vacation package. Sounds great, right? Unfortunately, however, this package isn't a great deal in many cases , because it requires you to choose certain fare classes for the adult ticket(s), which are usually MUCH more expensive than the cheapest discounted advance-purchase ticket(s). Often it would be cheaper to book a discounted adult and child fare instead. However, I'm listing this offer because it occasionally works out to be a good deal in certain circumstances. The "Kids Fly Free" promo can be combined with the "Everyone Plays at the Kids Price" or "Kids Play FREE" offer above . Applies to packages purchased from selected cities only and must be booked by 4/7/06. You must arrive at Disneyland by 4/25/06 and travel must be completed by 4/27/06. Blackout dates apply and packages are subject to availability. You can book a "Kids Fly Free" package online at Disneyland.com . Fall 2005 - "One Night FREE" Package Special Guests who purchase a 4-night or longer Disneyland Resort Magic vacation package for arrivals most dates 8/28/05 through 12/19/05* get one night FREE! *Blackout dates apply, including Thanksgiving week. Book a minimum four-night Disneyland Resort Magic vacation package with tickets included and get one night FREE (pay for three or more nights, get one free). Offer subject to availability, advance reservations required, restrictions apply. All attractions and entertainment, prices, types and features of tickets, special offers and events, and age ranges may be seasonal and are subject to change without notice. Thanks to Small World Vacations for info. To book a "One Night FREE" package, please contact a Disney Specialist travel agent . Packages for Disneyland Annual Passholders Now Disneyland Annual Passholders can purchase Disneyland Resort packages without purchasing tickets. Packages may also include meals, tours, accommodations and other exclusive items that make your visit to the Disneyland Resort truly magical. 2005 packages include: Accommodations at one of the hotels of the Disneyland Resort Preferred Seating to select shows at Disney's California Adventure New! Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness! Guests can enter Toontown an hour before the general public. Special 2005 Walt Disney Travel Company collectible pin and lanyard (one per person) Special Walt Disney Travel Company Luggage Tag Special Walt Disney Travel Company California Fun Book (one per package) Call (800) 824-1146 or (714) 520-5060 to book these packages. Last Minute Packages to Disneyland through Expedia Some of the last-minute Expedia packages are a good value, especially if you need airfare. Sometimes it costs less to buy one of these packages than it would to buy the airfare alone. Definitely worth a look if you're interested in a low-cost getaway to Disneyland. Then why not try them all! Written for backpackers by backpackers, this guide lets you go further, stay longer and pay less for a trip of a lifetime. • FIND YOUR WAY - inspiring itineraries and hundreds of maps help you plan your modern-day Grand Tour • EAT, DRINK & BE MERRY - extended listings for cheap and chic sleeps, tasty budget eats, uber-cool bars and world-famous clubs, with hand-picked splurge suggestions • BE IN THE KNOW - our culture coverage puts everything from ancient Greece to flamenco dancing in context • SEE ANOTHER SIDE - discover wife carrying in Finland, cheese rolling in Britain and tomato fights in Spain with our lowdown on the strange world of Europe's festivals From the Publisher Europe is a chameleon; its colours change rapidly. One day you can be on the cobbled streets of a medieval city, the next atop a snowcapped peak. Nowhere else greets you with such a swift succession of different languages and menu changes. With more than 30 national cultures on a modest landmass, Europe frequently dazzles even Europeans. Dubbed a living museum for the way its past and present coexist, this wealthy continent offers the charms of quaint Amsterdam and Prague alongside the buzz of modern metropolises such as Berlin and London. Postmodern buildings such as the Guggenheim in Bilbao have quickly taken a place beside Barcelona's still unfinished Sagrada Familia and older architectural icons like the ancient Parthenon. Europe's appeal lies not just in an influential, often bloody past and a largely peaceful present, but also in its mix of culture and nature. Botticelli and Picasso masterpieces aren't far from the countryside or popular beaches. You can follow the footsteps of characters you read about in textbooks or blaze your own trail in the Alps. Whether you dream of experiencing the romance of Paris, absorbing the chaos of Istanbul or downing a few beers in Belgium, this multifaceted continent can satisfy your tastes. Just as the EU has expanded east, so too has the traveller's itinerary and many formerly communist countries - even those outside of the EU - have been more open to tourism. The new colours that these destinations reveal, show how diverse the European cultural palette is, but for budget travellers there's a bonus. While Europe usually requires a longer, thicker shoestring than elsewhere, many of these recent hot locations are among the continent's cheapest. No guidebook is perfect... , December 19, 2005 Reviewer: Julia Webber "nerd" (South Bohemia, Czech Republic) - See all my reviews ... but I find the Lonely Planet guides to be better than most. Obviously this book covers a very large area, so it goes for breadth rather than depth. If you want to explore a country outside the major cities, get a local guide. This book contains a good amount of details about major Western countries- specifically Britain, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. If you are planning on travelling through the Balkans, Eastern Central Europe, the Baltics or Scandinavia, you should know that this guide only provides information about the major cities and tourist centers, and will not guide you away from the beaten path. Also, be aware that the book does not include Belarus or the Ukraine. Lonely Planet provides excellent maps, directions to attractions, and instructions for using the local transport (very useful), along with a language guide. Their advice regarding where to go and what to see, along with what to stay away from, is usually quite good. The main problem with this book is price inaccuracies. Naturally, prices change, so it is to be expected that the restaraunt, hotel and attraction prices cited in the guide may not be entirely accurate, but a person should be able to take it as truth when a guide says that ________ is the cheapest place to get food/accomodation/internet access... Lonely Planet misses a lot of budget traveler's gems and focuses mainly on expensive things in city centers. If you take the metro/bus/whatever a few stops away from the center in most of these towns, you can find hostels/restaraunts/internet cafes which are much cheaper than those listed in the book. It's worth the 10 extra minutes of travel time if you truly need to travel "on a shoestring." Was this review helpful to you? However, the problem wih Lonely Planet in general is that you need to buy he most updated version everytime because things change and the lonely planet people know this. And they keep updating it. Luckyly this edition is the newest one because it has the wedding of prince of denmark in it which is pretty recent. All in all this is an excellent bok! Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful: Good Overview , September 6, 2005 Reviewer: Carolyn Howarter (germany) - See all my reviews This book is really great for young people seeing Europe on a tight budget, as the title suggests. It is also suitable for families as it gives hotel and camping options in addition to hostels. One of my favorite aspects of it are the quick tips, which are very useful, and the mini history lessons for each country. The book also includes how to say basic words (hello, goodbye, please, thank you) in each language as well as a little phrase book in the back. The book is incredibly helpful in planning trips because it also gives a suggested daily budget and whether or not a visa is needed to enter a country. However, since it highlights so many countries, it is not ideal if you are staying mostly in one country. None of the sections go very in depth on the small towns in each country. For most travellers, that is not a problem. If you are staying in a country for a semester or a year though, you might want to also buy a book specific to where you are. Because it covers so many countries/cities, it missed a few details that I thought should be included. But overall, I'd say this is more than enough as a survival guide in Europe!
