If you are feeling overwhelmed by all the options, a great solution is to use the services of a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel. Be sure to ask if the agent has completed the College of Disney Knowledge, a comprehensive course offered by Disney that covers Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line. How it Works Travel agents make their living from a small commission paid by Disney for the resort hotel rooms, theme park passes and packages they book. The agent is compensated by this commission for the time, effort and attention he or she provides to the client. For that reason, it's unfair to ask a travel agent to do a lot of research for you, and then book elsewhere. Likewise, a reputable travel agent will not take over the booking of a trip from another travel agent. What to Expect An agent who specializes in Disney travel should be able to provide you with accurate information, including pricing, for Disney resorts, theme park passes and packages. He or she will book your trip and seek out the best deals for you -- even rebooking your trip when better rates come up, if possible. Once you book with a travel agent, he or she becomes your single point of contact for all changes in your travel plans -- you cannot make changes or cancellations directly through Disney if you are working with a travel agent. For most people this feature is convenient, but if you prefer to control everything yourself, booking with a travel agent is not for you. Travel agents are generally geared toward long-term planning (1 month in advance or more). That's primarily because it can take 3-4 weeks for them to get the paperwork from Disney once they've made your reservations, and then they have to get that paperwork to you. If you're planning a last-minute trip, it's usually better just to do it yourself. The event which begins at Camps Drift near Pietermaritzburg is paddled through two river systems, The Umsindusi and The Umgeni. The race ends at the Blue Lagoon and celebrity participants are welcomed home by thousands of participators. The race is alternated annually between singles and pairs formats. Midmar Mile 11-12 February 2006 , If you are a water sports lover you cannot afford to miss the world’s largest open water swimming event, the Midmar Mile. Renowned as one of the world’s most important water events it is difficult to imagine that it started as an alternative event that came as a result of petrol restrictions in South Africa in 1973. Mike Arbuthnot, Dick Park and Brian Glover were unable to travel as far as East London to compete in the Buffalo Mile in 1973 due to the restrictions so they decided to start a similar race organized in Natal. Midmar Dam was chosen as the venue, and it proved to be a popular venue. 153 swimmers took part in the inaugural competition in 1974 and the event has been growing from strength to strength. Last year over 17 000 swimmers took part in the event. Money raised from the event is donated to conservation purposes. ................................................ Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador are still the most Indian of the South American countries. Here you will find the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, the highest navigable lake in the world in Lake Titicaca, snow-covered peaks and live volcanos, like famous Cotopaxi in Ecuador, plus the dense rain forests of western Amazonia. Brazil is like no other: language, culture, sheer size, superlatives, energy and style, but it does share the Pantanal with its neighbor, landlocked Paraguay where the Chaco is the last grand frontier on the continent. They share also the Parana river, where Friendship Bridge links the two nations near Iguazu Falls. The countries of the "Southern Cone" are the most European in flavor. Argentina and Chile host some of the wildest extremes of climate and geography - pampas and desert, the Andes, Patagonian glaciers and the Straits of Magellan and Beagle Passage. The islands, either territories or possessions, share very few characteristics with the mainland. They are unique and out of the way, yet they reward the traveler with sights and experiences far beyond the norm. But, before you can get to any of these destinations, you have to have a travel plan!
